Florence I. (Brosseau) Azzinaro, 57 of Brooklyn, CT, beloved wife of the late James P. Azzinaro Jr., devoted mother of Katherine A. Milositz and her husband Joseph Milositz III, and Laura E. Azzinaro, and the adoring grandmother of Jackson and Kiera, passed away on October 8, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital following a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Florence was born in Westerly, RI on January 12, 1961. She was the daughter of Leo and Rita Brosseau of Westerly, RI. She worked as a classroom and reading teacher at Putnam Elementary School for the past 17 years. Florence will be remembered most for her strength, sense of humor, and zeal for life. She enjoyed long walks along the Cliffwalk in Newport, kayaking and fishing in Quonnie, and hunting for sea glass in Jamestown. Florence was happiest while with her family, whether it was around the table enjoying a home-cooked meal or finding relief from a hot summer day on East Beach. The love and unconditional support she provided to them will be profoundly missed. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Florence is survived by two sisters: Sharon Lane and her husband Tom of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Carol Marsiglio and her husband Paul of Westerly, RI; one brother: Matthew Brosseau of Westerly, RI; three sister-in-laws: Gina Breakstone of New Canaan, CT, Cristina Azzinaro of Lakeville, MA, and Suzanne Burbelo of Smiths Station, AL; and many nieces and nephews including Andrew Marsiglio of New York, NY, with whom she was especially close. A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at The Watch Hill Chapel, 5 Bluff Avenue, Watch Hill, RI. Florence loved walking the trails of Sachuest Point in Newport, RI.
