Ewdokia Sokol (Baba), age 97, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2015 in Bridgeport Hospital. She was born in 1918 in Belarus, one of 13 children, (9 survived) and emigrated from Germany to the United States in October of 1949. She resided in Stratford for sixty years, and was employed at American Fabrics Co, Honeycomb, Remington Shaver, and the Trumbull Racquet Club. She loved gardening, canning, baking, and cooking. Ewdokia was proud of her Ukrainian culture and was a hard worker, with a sense of humor who lived each day to the fullest. She is survived by her son, Andrew and his wife Ludmilla, grandson, Mikola, granddaughter, Katarina, and many nieces and nephews and relatives in Belarus and Russia to cherish her memory. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Dimitry, son, Michael, and all of her siblings. At her request calling hours have been omitted, and all services and interment are private and have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home Stratford.
