Evo "Bill" Gavoli, age 88, of Stratford, beloved husband of Caroline Henderson Gavoli died Thursday, January 18, 2006 in the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Haven. Born in West haven to the late Daniel and Elia ( Sorbi) Gavoli he has been a lifelong Stratford resident. He was a WW II Veteran of the United States Army where he was active in Germany and became a Prisoner of War.. He was a retired welder for the Burndy Corp. in Milford and was a member of the American Ex-P.O.W. Association in West Haven. Survivors in addition to his wife Carol are 2 sons William Gavoli and his wife Elaine of Stratford and Douglas Gavoli of Portland, Oregon; a daughter Susan Edo and her husband Reggie of Stratford; a sister Lyanne Villella and her husband Ronald of Tallahassee, FLA; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Christine Cipriano. Friends may greet the family on Monday January 22, 2006 from 5 – 6:45 pm in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Prayer services will begin at 6:45 pm with the Rev. Brian Gray pastor of Our lady of Peace RC Church officiating. Intenment will be private.
