It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Evelyn V. (Krizan) Tkacs, wife of the late Leslie M. Tkacs, on March 17, 2025, at the age of 86. A loving and devoted mother, Evelyn left a legacy of kindness, strength, and unconditional love.
Evelyn was born on May 3,1938 in Bridgeport, CT to the late John and Julia (Krivy) Krizan and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of St. John Commercial High School and was a retired CNA, working for over thirty years at Park City Hospital and retiring from Urology Physicians in Bridgeport. A dedicated mother, she poured love, wisdom, and encouragement into her children. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she will be deeply missed by her children, Cheryl Miller and her husband Jeff, Robert Lesko and his wife Loretta, Donna McDonough and her husband Kerry, Susan Glick and her husband Gene; 11 cherished grandchildren, Alyssa (Eric) Zavadsky, Sean (Victoria) Miller, Jeffrey Miller, Natalie (Nick) Kaszei, Kelly (Andy) Carr, Breanna Miller, Meghan (Billy) Lapinski, Brendan Miller, Katie McDonough, Nathan Glick and Julie Glick, and 8 adored great-grandchildren.
Evelyn also had a passion for baking her famous cookies, ceramics and going to the Casino. She had a kind heart, always ready to lend a hand or offer a listening ear. Her unwavering faith and her ability to bring joy to the lives of others were unparalleled.
In addition to her children, she is survived by a sister, Anna Mae Smith and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Albert and Michael Krizan and her sisters, MaryAnn Pollack, Betty Bakalar and Margaret Kelly.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 9:30 - 10:30 am in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, CT: followed by a Mass of Christian Buriel at 11:00 am at St Mark Church, Stratford. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe.
Though she is no longer with us, the love and lessons she shared will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
Rest in peace, Mom. You will be missed more than words can express, but we find comfort knowing you are now at peace.
