Obituary

Eva Roman age 92, of Stratford, passed away peacefully in the home she loved and lived in for over 60 years, surrounded by her family. She was born in Bridgeport on January 15, 1919 to the late Nicholas and Pearl Litwin, and lived her early years in Wilkes Barre, PA. Eva was a kind and gentle soul, who loved her family and friends, and was always ready to welcome everyone into her home. She loved her church, St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and her church family. She attended church weekly, until her health made it impossible. She had many happy stories of church picnics and Malankas. Eva was pre-deceased by her first husband Stephen Paproski, who lost his life in WW II and her loving husband John Roman. Her brothers, Louis, Michael, and Peter and sister Mary. She was born to be a mother and will be forever missed by her children. Son Stephen Roman and his wife JoAnn of Monroe, daughter Donna Bayusik and her husband Paul of South Carolina, and her caregivers to the end Son, Alex Roman and daughter Joy Roman, both of Stratford, her beloved grandchildren Brian Domschine and his wife Jennifer of SC, and Nicole DuBois of Stratford, her beautiful great-grandchildren Brenden and soon to be Ellie. She also leaves behind her 2 best friends and sisters, her twin Stella Bennett of Stratford, and baby sister Annie of Vermont, and many cousins, nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. The family would like to give special thanks to JoAnn for all of her help and VNS Hospice for all of their care. Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed and very dear. A Requiem Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday July 16th at 9:30 a.m. meeting directly at St. Mary's Church Oakwood Street Bridgeport. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Panachida at 6:30 p.m.
