Eugenia N. Schimanski, age 99, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Oleg Schimanski, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026. Eugenia was born in Kiev, Russia on August 26, 1926, to the late Wasily and Matrona Nitchke and has been a longtime area resident. She retired from The Hartford Insurance Company and has been a devoted parishioner of Presentation of Christ in the Temple Russian Orthodox Church in Stratford.

Survivors include her cherished granddaughters, Tammy Berghauser and Marissa Fehr, and great-grandchildren, Emily, Elayna, and Lyla.

Services will take place on Thursday January 22nd at 8 a.m. in Presentation of Christ in the Temple Russian Orthodox Church 5-Wheeler Terrace Stratford for a Divine Liturgy, followed by a Requiem Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery Bridgeport. A Panikida service will take place on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the church.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford.
