Ethel M. Petrella, 'Babe", age 86, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on September 9, 1930 to the late George and Ethel (Gadus) Forman, Babe was a Bridgeport resident for many years before moving to Derby. She was the loving wife of the late John P. Petrella and devoted her life to her family. Babe retired after 30 years from the Pharmacy Department at St. Vincent's Hospital and was recently a volunteer at My Sisters Place in Ansonia. She is survived by her son, John and his wife Sue of Summerville, SC, son, Ken and his wife Marybeth of Stratford, and daughter, Lauren of Derby. Babe is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Lori, Jennifer, Kenny and Katie, and great-grandchildren, Haley, Brenden, Ellie and Maya. She was predeceased by sisters, Georgette Smith and Marion Mileski. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday. December 21, 2016 at 11:00am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet her family on Tuesday from 4-7pm.
