Ethel Kuba Jankura age 88, devoted wife of 52 years to the late Michael J. Jankura, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday October 26, 2008 at Shelton Lakes Health Care Center, surrounded by her loving family. Ethel was born in Bridgeport on June 24, 1920 to the late Andrew and Anna (Chapistrak) Kuba and has been a lifelong Bridgeport resident, she was a former resident of the Bishop Curtis Senior Apartments, a graduate of Warren Harding High School and a retired employee of the General Electric Company. Her favorite pleasure was spending time with her family, and we will most fondly remember gathering in her home enjoying her wonderful home cooked dinners and delicious baked desserts. Ethel is survived by her loving daughter Judy Reeves and son-in-law Ronald Hiznay of Shelton, and her devoted son Jim Jankura and his wife Debbie of Milford. She also leaves behind two beloved grandsons Craig Reeves and his wife Shera of Jupiter, Florida, and Brian Reeves and his wife Katie of Plantsville, CT., and five cherished great-grandchildren Trevor, Zachary, Jake, Natalie, and William, who have lost their precious "Grape". Ethel is also survived by a step grandson Kevin Carpenter and his wife Janis, several nieces and nephews, and her very special best friend Helen Gurg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was pre-deceased by brothers Stephen, Frank, John, Joe, Henry, Michael and Charles Kuba and a sister Margaret Peterson. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the dedicated staff at Shelton Lakes for the special care and kindness they provided to Ethel and her family during her stay. Friends are invited to attend her funeral on Thursday October 30, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, with Rev. Vadim Pismenny officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery Bridgeport.
