Eric K. Hansen, age 64, of North Branford, passed away on February 25, 2026. Born in Bridgeport on November 5, 1961, to the late Knute and Jane (Bradley) Hansen, he was a lifelong area resident and a proud graduate of Bucknell University, where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Eric dedicated himself to a lifelong career at Sikorsky Aircraft until his recent retirement. During that time, pushing out of the comforts of his predictable daily routine, he found meaning in engaging on a deeper level with beloved hobbies like cycling and home improvement projects. He joined a local boating club and got his boating license, proudly exploring the Northeast on the water with his wife, and fishing with his son. He looked forward to having time to travel more, returning to favorites like Vietnam and Thailand and exploring new places like Puglia.
Eric was a man of deep intellect, stubborn resolve, and profound kindness. He taught his children to navigate the world, from the technical skills of cooking and driving to the more meaningful lessons of patience, selflessness, and unconditional support. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his beloved wife of 38 years and world travel partner, Karyn Saloman Hansen; his devoted children Yardley Hansen and husband Paul Lenke, Brett Hansen, and Vyolette Hansen; his sisters Kristin Davis and husband Lincoln, and Heidi Varrecchione and husband Vinny; grandson Benjamin; and several nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will be found in the quiet moments of the everyday: the song of a blue jay or cardinal, the first peepers of spring, the familiar notes of the Jeopardy! theme, and the simple comfort of a fresh tomato or a cup of black coffee.
“We will continue to love, adore and explore together in every lifetime. xoxoxo” - Karyn
Visitation on Friday, March 6th from 9:30 – 11 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, with a prayer service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Branford Center Cemetery.
