Emma Patricia Sabo Roscoe, age 92, beloved wife of the late Harold Roscoe, died on Thursday, September 8, 2005 in the Carolton Chronic Convalescent and Rehab Center in Fairfield with her family by her side. Emma was born in Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Stephen and Barbara Sabo. She moved to Bridgeport as a youngster and resided there before moving to Stratford with her family. Emma worked at Howland's Department Store and at Bunnell High School before retiring. She was a founding member of St. Mark's Church and served on the first Parish Council, sang in the choir and was an active member of the Ladies Guild. She served as a volunteer at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Home for more than twenty years. She loved the activities at the Baldwin Center and the Easton Senior Center, cooking (especially desserts) and avidly followed the UCONN Lady Huskies. Emma loved being with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Pat Finick and her husband Walter of Easton and her son Michael Roscoe of Richmond, Virginia. She especially loved her grandsons, Michael Finick of Stratford and Matthew Finick of New York City. Emma was predeceased by her beloved brothers and sisters: Paul Sabo, Steve "Pete" Sabo, James Sabo Helen Luppens, and Elizabeth Borg. She is survived by her loving sister Margaret Zeilik and her husband Michael of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Funeral Services will take place on Monday, September 12, 2005 at 9:15 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:00 am in St. Marks R.C. Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Sunday from 3-6 pm.
