Elsie Maceyunas, age 72, of Stratford, beloved wife of Edward Maceyunas entered into eternal rest at Bridgeport Hospital on Tuesday, December 6, 2016.  Elsie was born in Biloxi, Mississippi on December 19, 1943, precious daughter of the late Michael and Pauline Gayda.  She lived in Bridgeport and Shelton prior to moving back to Stratford. Elsie was a graduate of St John Nepomucene High School, Class of 1960 and Harding High School, Class of 1962. She was employed and retired from City Trust/Chase Bank. Elsie loved the outdoors, boating, swimming, and gardening. Elsie enjoyed watching movies, playing card games and spending time with her family. She was an avid baker and for those who knew her will remember her sharing during the holidays. Elsie loved animals and was raised with Boston Terriers and bred this breed for many years.  Elsie is survived by her husband of 51 years, Edward Maceyunas, her daughter, Susan Gouveia of Stratford, her son, Edward Maceyunas along with his fiancee, Christina Adzima of Stratford, and her cherished grandchildren, Michael and Alyssa. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Skippy. Elsie had a magnetic personality and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff of Bridgeport Hospital for their compassionate and professional care. Funeral services will take place on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, with Deacon Andrew Dzujna officiating. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet her family on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
