Elsa Trostonoff, 79, passed away peacefully on September 5th surrounded by her precious daughter Jessica and her nephew Gregory.

Elsa was born in Bridgeport, CT on October 19, 1944 to parents Harvey and Helen Horton.

Elsa graduated from Stratford High School and was the face of Ashcroft formerly know as Dresser Industries.  She worked as a receptionist right out of high school until her retirement in 2009. Elsa brought a smile to everyone's face as she greeted them. She loved to cook, bake, garden, and spend time with her grandchildren. Elsa enjoyed sharing meals, conversations, and laughs with family and friends, especially at Christmas Eve dinner.

Faith and the Russian Orthodox tradition were very important to Elsa. She was an active member in her church community at Presentation Church in Stratford and was an avid collector of Icons and religious art.

Elsa was pre-deceased by her husband, Howard Trostonoff. She is survived by her daughter Jessica Aceycek of Stratford, her brother Timothy Horton (Kathy) of Trumbull, three precious grandchildren, Lola, Tucker, and Finley Aceycek, and as Elsa always said, "the son I never had", Dr. Gregory Pacific of Milford.

Friends may call on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. from 4-7 pm in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. A Panikhida (memorial service) will be at 6:15 pm

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, holy liturgy will commence at 9:00 am followed by the funeral service immediately following at the Presentation of Christ in the Temple Russian Orthodox Church, Stratford.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Bridgeport. Services will be conducted by Archpriest Constantine Semyanko of the Presentation of Christ in the Temple Russian Orthodox Church.
