Elizabeth E. (Betty) Zaletta, 94, beloved wife of the late John W. Zaletta and mother of Judy Pifko passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013. Born in Bridgeport to John and Elizabeth Kraynak on September 17, 1918, she was one of eight children. Betty has resided in Trumbull, CT. for the last 55 years. A graduate of Warren Harding High School and Butler Business School, she was formerly employed by General Electric, Warner Brothers, Bunker Ramo and finished her working career at Remington Arms. Betty was a long time member of the Ladies Guild and church choir at St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church in Trumbull. Her 94 years were characterized by her fierce independence and staunch determination, which served her so well. In addition to her daughter Judith Pifko, she is survived by her favorite son-in-law Frank Pifko, 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her husband John, her 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral will take place on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 9:45am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:30 am in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church in Trumbull for a Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial with the Rev. Anthony DeFronzo officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford.
