Elizabeth "Betty" Metal Somsky, age 95, of Bridgeport, the beloved wife of the late George Somsky Sr., passed away on January 17, 2018 in Bridgeport Hospital. Betty was born on April 10, 1922 in Tarentum, Pennsylvania to the late Paul and Mary (Pernick) Metal and has been along time area resident. She was a retired Nurse's Aide for the City of Bridgeport, and was a member of the YMCA Senior Group. Survivors include her devoted daughter, Lois Mihalek and her husband Raymond of Bridgeport, 8 grandchildren, Christopher Somsky, Brian (Cammy) Somsky, Sharon Somsky, Nicole Somsky, Tracy Lee, Mark (Jacqueline) Mihalek, Gregory Mihalek, and Jeffrey Mihalek, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Betty was pre-deceased by her son, George Somsky Jr. and brother, Paul Metal. Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 9:15am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church Trumbull with the celebration of a Divine Liturgy. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Panachida at 2:15 p.m.
