Eleanor Bonazzo Shea ("Ellie") of Stratford, CT beloved wife of Cornelius (Connie) P. Shea was 87 years old and died peacefully in her sleep at home surrounded by her loved ones on 30th day of July 2024.  Ellie and Connie recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

Born January 27th, 1937, in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Caroline Sedlock Bonazzo and sister of the late Edythe B. Bensey.

She graduated from Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport and retired in 1995 after a long career with General Electric Company at their Corporate Headquarters in Fairfield.

She was a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Church in Stratford, CT where she was very active serving on The Altar Society and as a religious schoolteacher for 12 years.

She enjoyed traveling including in the USA, UK, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, are her two devoted sons, Patrick J Shea and his wife Rosemary of Surrey, England and Christopher B. Shea and his wife Therese of Stratford, CT; four grandchildren (Michael Connor, Gabrielle, Shannon and her pre-deceased grandson Daniel); three great-grandchildren (Adianna, Skye and Nash); her brother-in-law Jeremiah Shea and his wife Patricia of Stratford CT; special nieces and nephews Kathleen Shea Dully and her husband Robert of Avon, CT, Michael P Shea of Norwalk, CT, Kevin C. Shea and his wife Sue of Madison CT, and Jeremiah C Shea II and his wife Kristen of Milford, CT; great nieces and nephews (Sarah, Bobby, Maggie, Ellie, Norah, Jeremiah, Christopher, Tyler and Eli and Godmother to Michael Shea and Heather Liptak along with nieces and nephews

Family and friends are invited to visit Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford on Friday August 2, 2024, from 4-7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 3rd at 10:00 a.m. meeting directly at Our Lady of Peace Church 651 Stratford Road Lordship. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery in Stratford, CT.
