Eleanor Lindman, age 70, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away in her family home on Thursday, January 4, 2024. She was born in Bridgeport on May 28, 1953, to the late Eric and Olga (Tymniak) Lindman and has been a lifelong city resident.

After graduating from Central High School, Eleanor attended the University of Connecticut where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics Education followed by a Master of Arts degree in School Counseling from Fairfield University. She then enjoyed a fulfilling career teaching Family Consumer Sciences at Fairfield Woods Middle School during which time she was a recipient of the Connecticut Public Fire & Life Safety Educator of the Year award. A talented sewer, Eleanor's former students will all remember the sewing unit where they had fun creating her extremely popular "Normans." Following her retirement in 2016, Eleanor volunteered as a docent at the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport where she loved watching and helping the visiting children learn about animals.

Thoughtful and generous with envy-inducing handwriting, Eleanor was a collector of frog figurines and rarely seen without her signature red-painted nails and an angel pin. Throughout her adult life, she enjoyed swimming, reading, sewing, going to the movies, and doting on her niece and nephew as well as their dogs.

Eleanor's memory will be carried on by her sister, Anne DeLorenzo; her niece, Rachele DeLorenzo; her nephew, Jason DeLorenzo; and many cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Walter Lindman.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 12 from 9:00am-10:30am at the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place in Stratford. A brief Trisagion Funeral service will be held at 10:30am with Father Romanos Malouf officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
