Obituary

Elaine Susan Lescheshen Price, age 52 of Orange left her loving family suddenly to be with our Lord on Saturday September 5, 2009 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Charles R. Price. Elaine was born on February 22, 1957, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Lescheshen of Stratford. Her two loving sons, Timothy B. Price and David V. Price both of Manhattan N.Y, survive her. A graduate of Bunnell High School, Elaine has been an entrepreneur throughout her extensive career in enterprise computing, and had served as CEO of five successful companies. Elaine's 20+-year career includes senior management positions with leading high technology companies like Digital Equipment Corporation, where she was responsible for the global deployment of enterprise solutions in support of regulated industries. Elaine's extensive corporate background enabled her to develop the practical knowledge required to successfully create and manage multiple international startup companies from concept to sustain and profitable growth. Elaine founded Phoenix Systems Integration (1995); its German sister company, Phoenix Systems Integration (Deutschland) GmbH (1997); CYA Technologies, Inc. (1998); Platform Dynamics US (2005), and Platform Dynamics Deutschland GmbH (2005). Elaine earned international recognition as a leading business visionary and successful entrepreneur. As a result of her successful business ventures Elaine was a recipient of the "Women of Innovation" Award in 2005 and 2007 presented by the Connecticut Technology Council. This award recognized her as an outstanding leader, innovator, mentor and role model. Mrs. Price also received the World's Business Award presented to her by Ernst and Young, in recognition as an "entrepreneurial leader whose ingenuity, hard work and innovation created a successful and growing business venture". During her tenure as C.E.O. of CYA Technologies, the company received the "Connecticut Technology Fast 50 Award" in 2002 and 2003 from Connecticut Technology Council sponsored by Deloitte and Touche. In addition the company received the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Award for two consecutive years. She was a sought-after speaker, and a frequent expert commentator for members of the media on topics including Content Management, Business Continuity, Secure Collaboration, Back-up and Recovery, and Entrepreneurial Expertise. While Elaine enjoyed a successful career she loved family and delighted in time spent with them, whether it was at the beach in Milford, Sanibel Island, and the Cape or skiing in Colorado or entertaining everyone at her home for the holidays this was time cherished by her. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she would begin decorating her lovely home the day after Thanksgiving creating an incredible and beautiful wonderland for her family and friends to enjoy. Her enthusiasm and energy was contagious. She was the consummate gardener and her love for flowers and plants was evident, as her yard would come alive with color every spring and summer delighting us all. Elaine was the consummate wife, Mom, sister, Godmother, Aunt, cousin and friend. She was deeply loved. Survivors in addition to her immediate family include her sisters and husbands, Bettie and Ken Guggenheim of Stratford and Mary Ann and Bruce Rudolph of Newtown and her father in law Charles Price of New York. Also her nephews, Jason D. Holt (godson) and his wife Carline, Adam Guggenheim, Andrew Rudolph, Tyler Rudolph, her nieces, Rebecca and Kelsey Guggenheim, two great nephews Elijah and Sebastian Holt. Several cherished Aunts, Uncles and cousins also survive her. Last but not least her beloved dog Cleo and her fish, Swish. Funeral Services will take place on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 10:00 am in Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church East Main Street Bridgeport for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 pm. In the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Panachida will be at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Elaine's memory may be made to the future Elaine S. Price Public Garden c/o David V. Price 136 East 56th St. Apt 3G NY, NY 10022.
