Edward Smith II, age 55 of Ansonia passed away on Wednesday May 9, 2007 in Connecticut Hospice Branford. Ed was born in Bridgeport to Geraldine Mangler Smith and the late Edward Smith and has been a life long area resident, living in Ansonia and Derby for the past twenty plus years. He and his wife where the former proprietors of Derby Discount Liquors. He was a member the of Laborers Union Local # 665 for twenty eight years and served as Vice President, a position he had to resign from due to his failing health. Ed, also served as a delegate to the Fairfield County Labor Council. Survivors in addition to his mother include his beloved wife Deborah Andrenyak Smith, his 6 children Karen Perez, Edward Smith III, Darlene Silva and her husband Fred, Eric Smith, Shannon Musnicki and her husband Jeremy and Jeremy Smith, 10 grandchildren, 5 brothers Tommy, Jerry, Ronald, Wayne and Brian Smith and 2 sisters Linda Ismail and Deborah Balaszi and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday May 15th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist Bridgeport for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 p.m. Panachida at 4:30 p.m.
