Edward Charles Seliga, 92, beloved husband of Imadean Seliga passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 in his home. Born in Crystal Ridge, PA, he was the son of the late George and Catherine (Bunk) Seliga, and lived in Stratford for most of his life. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents were brothers, Charles, Anthony, Joseph and Louis Seliga and sisters Mary Moran, Nellie Sukel, Caroline Kowalchick, Theresa Gottstein, and Anna Moran. In addition to his loving wife of 65 years, he is survived by two daughters, Theresa Dowden, and her husband Carl of Red Hook, NY and Catherine Mariano of Stratford, and four granddaughters, Sarah Parker and her husband Paul, Emma Dowden, Gina Mariano, and Angela Mariano. Edward is also survived by a brother Stanley Seliga and his wife Betty, of Shelton, and many nieces and nephews. He was a retired Letter Carrier, and a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed many years of trout fishing in streams across Connecticut and New York and spent his retirement tending his vegetable garden. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his loving granddaughters. The family would like to thank his caregivers, who have been angels helping us every day. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Friday, July 31st at 10:30 a.m. meeting directly at St. James Church 2070 Main St Stratford. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery; Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.
