Edward Sawicki, age 77, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Brigid (Crissie) O'Connell Sawicki, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013 in Maefair Health Center, Trumbull. Mr. Sawicki, a U.S. AirForce Veteran of the Korean War, was born in Derby, to the late Zigmund and Mary (Brejwo) Sawicki, and has been a life long area resident. Ed was a retired Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, and was an avid fisherman. Survivors include his beloved children David Sawicki and his wife Maria of Norwalk, and Patricia Doherty and her husband Brian of Stratford, 3 cherished grandchildren Pablo, Tara, and Derek, 2 sisters Helen Pleban, and Loretta Ricker, and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 31st at 11 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Avenue, Stratford. Interment will be in Mountain Grove of Easton, Cemetery. At the family's request calling hours have been omitted. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford.
