Edward "RIGGS" Monelli, age 85 of Stratford passed away on Saturday September 9, 2006 in Bridgeport Hospital. Mr. Monelli, a WW # II Veteran of the U.S. Army was born in Old Forge, PA to the late Gaudenzio and Letizia Monelli and has been a long time area resident. He was a retired expeditor for Remington Arms and was a member of the Dupont-Remington Pensioners Club, and was the widower of Dorothy Mihalik Monelli. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his beloved sons Alan Monelli and his wife Nancy of Bethany and Dean Monelli and his wife Linda of Stratford, his cherished grandchildren Anthony, Nicholas, Gina and Michael, 2 sisters Ada Scherer of Bear, Del, and Angela Monelli of Novato, CA and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by 2 brothers Octavio and Ezio. Funeral services will take place on Friday September 15th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Trumbull. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
