Edward J Bombard, age 79, of Stratford, beloved husband of Gale Griffin Bombard, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2026. Ed was born in Bridgeport on May 28, 1947, to the late Alexander and Lillian Brooks Bombard and has been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Harding High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Bridgeport. Ed retired from Interstate Lumber Company. Ed had a passion for model ship building and was an avid fan of the New York METS and JETS.

Survivors in addition to his beloved wife of 52 years include his devoted children, Jeff Bombard of Stratford, Lynn Bombard of New Haven, and Allison Bombard and her husband Matthew Boshuyzen of Meriden, cherished grandson, Oliver, a sister, Melanie Smith of Georgia, brothers-in-law, Raymond Griffin of Milford, and James (Margit) Griffin of Alabama, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ed was pre-deceased by a sister, Theresa Templeton.

A memorial service will be announced at later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford.
