Dorothy "Dottie" Marus passed away peacefully on May 6, 2018 at the age of 91 years. A native of Bridgeport, CT, Dorothy was the mother of five and actively helped to raise all 12 of her grandchildren. Dorothy was known for her famous spaghetti sauce and meatballs, her impeccably clean home, and never getting a stain on any of her white shirts.  She dedicated her life to her beloved grandchildren, baking them a birthday cake from scratch every year and taking care of them when they were home sick from school.  She was a Christmas tree connoisseur and made every holiday special with her "chocolate chip squares."  It brought her great joy in her final moments to know her first great-grandchild was on the way, coming into this world just hours after her passing. Dorothy is survived by her devoted children who cared for her through her final years: Joseph Marus and his wife Elaine of Milford, Susan Voccola and her husband Stephen of Milford, Sharon DeRiso and her husband Richard of Shelton, and John Marus and his wife Adriane of Trumbull.  She is predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph Marus, her son, Robert Marus, and her grandchild, Robert Marus, Jr.  Her loyal and beloved dog, Rufus, was with her till the end. Friends may greet her family on Friday, May 11 ^th , from 5-7pm at the Adzima Funeral Home: 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Dorothy's memory be made to:  The Alzheimer's Association.
