Dorothy Nemergut Kopchick, age 89, of Stratford, beloved widow of Andrew Kopchick, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 in Bishop Wicke HCC, Shelton. Mrs. Kopchick, a homemaker, was born in Bridgeport to the late John and Mary (Pohorenec) Nemergut and has been a life long area resident. She was an avid BINGO player. Survivors include her devoted children, Stephen Kopchick and his wife Lucy of Seymour, Patricia Cornish and her husband Alexander of Bridgeport, and Janet Potter and her husband Craig of Goshen, 6 cherished grandchildren, David Kopchick, Laura Houdlette, Craig Brian Potter, Scott, Marc and Joseph Cornish, 10 great-grandchildren, Meghan, Andrew, and Catherine Kopchick, Simone and Nathan Houdlette, Brandon, Gabriella, Anthony, Nathan, and Ryan Cornish, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by her brothers, Albert and Edward Nemergut, and sisters, Helen LeClair, and Margaret Prisco. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, July 15th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 10 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford.
