Dorothy Summ Herzog, age 96, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Joseph Herzog, passed away on April 22, 2018 in Bridgeport Hospital. Dorothy was born on June 4, 1921 in Clinton, Massachusetts, the last of eight children of the late John and Nina Mills Summ. She was raised in Bridgeport and graduated from Central High School, and has lived in Stratford for the past seventeen years. Dorothy was married to the love of her life, Joseph in 1942. They were married for sixty-six years. Survivors include her devoted children, Beth (Rich) Sullivan of Stratford, Joseph (Aleida) Herzog of Meriden, Mike (Joan) Herzog of Mesa, AZ, son-in-law, John Craig of Waterville, ME. She was "Grammy" to 8 grandchildren, Kate, Steve, Andrea, J.W., Alex, Christopher, Tyler and Jerry, and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was pre-deceased by her daughter, Jo-Ann Craig, sisters, Frances Haeussler, and Edith Eck, and brothers, John, Sherwood, Roger, Eugene, and Elwyn. Funeral services are private and have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home-Stratford.
