Doris A. Wade Black, age 93, of Stratford, the widow of Thomas Black, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013 in Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center, Stratford. Mrs. Black, a retired employee of General Electric, was born in Worcester, Massachusetts to the late Walter and Margaret (Sullivan) Wade, and has been a long time area resident. Survivors include her beloved son Robert Black and his wife Doreen of Stratford, 2 cherished granddaughters Patricia Morrow and her husband Jason, and Kathleen McManus and her husband Michael, 3 great-grandchildren Jack, Grace, and Brody, a sister Elsie Petrizzo of Stratford, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Doris was pre-deceased by her brothers Donald, Earl and Walter. Mrs. Black's family would like to thank the 2nd Floor Staff of Lord Chamberlain HCC for their kind and loving care. Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 23rd at 9:45 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in the spring in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Wallingford, VT.
