Dawn Marie Prince, age 56, of Stratford, beloved wife of Patrick R. Prince Sr., passed away on January 22, 2021 in Bridgeport Hospital.

Dawn was born in Bridgeport on July 8, 1964 cherished daughter of Antoinette Pisano Velasquez of Stratford and the late Neil Velasquez Sr. She was a graduate of Bunnell High School class of 1982 and Bridgeport Hospital School of Radiology, where she graduated at the top of her class. Dawn worked for Advanced Radiology in Stratford as a CAT Scan and MRI Technologist.

She had a true love of sports, which started with OLG basketball, where she had the opportunity to play with a wonderful and talented group of girls who had great success playing in a very competitive league.  Dawn went on to be a 3-sport athlete at Bunnell high school, which included Softball, basketball and volleyball, where she was awarded all MBIAC Honors in softball. Dawn went on to play softball for Bridgeport Hospital in the industrial league and traveled all over the country playing in various tournaments, including a national championship in Georgia. She also played in various Rec. Leagues with friends. Dawn was a fierce competitor, a great teammate and a mentor to many.

She will be remembered as an amazing, mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. Survivors in addition to her mother and beloved husband of 33 years, include her cherished sons, Patrick R. Prince Jr., and Shawn W. Prince, brother, Neil Velasquez and his wife Judy, sister, Christine Butterworth and her husband Robert, mother-in-law, Phyllis Prince, brother-in-law, William Prince, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will take place on Tuesday, January 26 ^th at 12 p.m. in St. John's Cemetery 2610 Nichols Avenue Stratford. Everyone in attendance must follow Covid19 guidelines; wear a mask and practice social distancing.
