Daniel M. Gardecki Jr., age 62 of Stratford, beloved partner of Carol Minardi, passed away suddenly on May 6, 2026, in his home. Dan was born in Bridgeport on November 4, 1963, to the late Daniel Gardecki, Sr. and Trudy (Borner) Gardecki and had been a lifelong area resident. 

He was a graduate of Shelton High School, class of 1981. Dan retired from the Iron Workers Union Local #424 in 2024 after 40 years. He was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed fishing and boating with his father and participated in the Blue Fish competition off Long Island sound each year. For many years Danny enjoyed riding his motorcycles, especially, his Harley Davidson and Indian Scout. He was a true animal lover who enjoyed and cherished his pets since childhood. 

Survivors in addition to his beloved partner of 29 years include his devoted aunt, Joan Duda and her husband Jim of Monroe, his late sister Joni’s partner, Keith Kristiansen, cousins Jenifer (Angelo) Magliocco of Trumbull and Janine (Todd) Hennessey of Seymour and several other cousins and many friends. In addition to his beloved parents, Dan was pre-deceased by his sister, Joni Yale. 

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 4-6 p.m. at the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford with a prayer service at 5:45 p.m.
