Clifford C. Costello, age 94, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Anna Suchara Costello, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2022, at Bridgeport Hospital. Cliff was born in Bridgeport on February 18, 1927, to the late Martin and Anna (Lucas) Costello and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and proud member of the American Legion Post 16. After serving his country, he worked as a supervisor for Sikorsky Aircraft for 38 years. Cliff also had a passion for sports. He was a championship horseshoe player in the Valley Horseshoe League and a member of the Big "6" duckpin bowling league for many years. Cliff was one of the sweetest, most amazing guys you'd ever meet. He will be remembered fondly for his kind, loving nature, his sense of humor, and having a smile that would brighten your day. He was an incredible father, grandpa, and great grandpa. Survivors include his devoted children, Suzanne Dinan and her husband Bill of Monroe, Janet Costello of Stratford, and Clifford "Kippy" Costello of Florida, cherished grandchildren, Alisha Speanburg (Carl), Chris Dinan, and Rachel McDermott (Ryan), great-grandchildren, his "little guy" Jacob, Madaleine, Ryker, Catherine, and Gabriel as well as many loved nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please donate blood in honor of Cliff. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Cliff was pre-deceased by his loving grandson, Freddie, and brothers, Kenneth and Martin. Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, January 18 ^th from 4-6 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Masks are required, as visitors walk through, pay their respects, and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through the building. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 19 ^th at 9:00 a.m. meeting directly at Holy Name of Jesus Church 1950 Barnum Avenue Stratford. Interment with full military honors will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford.
