Claudia (Jan) Kronus Kekacs, age 81, of Stratford, beloved wife of Daniel Kekacs, passed away on April 24, 2018 in Bridgeport Hospital. Jan was born in Bridgeport on June 14, 1936 to the late William and Sally (Julian) Kronus and has been a life long area resident. She was a graduate of Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing. Jan worked in the Labor and Delivery Dept and the OR at Bridgeport Hospital for over twenty-six years, and retired as a supervisor from Bridgeport Mental Health Center, where she had been honored as Nurse of the Year. She was an active member of the Bridgeport Hospital Nursing School Alumni Association. Jan's family would like to thank everyone who went out of their way to make her comfortable during her illness. Survivors in addition to her husband, include her devoted children, Andrew Kekacs (Libby Dean) of Canada, Susan Tall (Tom) of Shelton, and Donna Derubis of Stratford, 11 grandchildren, Caitlin, Daniel, Matthew, Bryan, Amy, Christopher, Vienna, Madison, Lori, Mary, and Steven, and 6 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 28 ^th at 9:00 am meeting directly at Saint James Church, 2070 Main Street Stratford. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may call Friday from 4-7 pm at the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.
