Claire E. Hayas, age 91, of Stratford, the beloved widow of Michael Hayas Sr. passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023 in her home with her family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on October 2, 1932 to the late Peter and Ethel (Magnuson) Petersen, she has been a life long Stratford resident. Claire was a retired area florist. She was a member of Pyremus Temple #82 Daughters of the Nile, Stratford Firefighters Ladies Auxiliary and Federation of Stratford Retirees. Survivors include her devoted children, Michael Hayas (Nanci) of Spofford, NH, Sharen Beloin (Gary) of Waterbury and Susan Kisly of Shelton, 7 grandchildren, Timothy Beloin (Melody), Cecile Mancini (Dennis), Matthew Beloin (Rebecca), Zachary Kisly Jr (Jennifer), Ashley Shaff (Braeden), David Kisly and Jesse Warren, 12 great grandchildren, Juliana, Christopher, Gabriella, Sophia and Porter Beloin, Nicolina, Donato and Ninetta Mancini, Zachary and Penelope Kisly, Derek Bartlebaugh, Levi Shaff, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Michael and her parents, Claire was predeceased by a brother, Robert Petersen, a sister Effie Petersen and a son-in-law Kevin Kisly.

Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 4-7 pm in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, November 15th at 10:15 am with Pastor James Loomer officiating in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery Stratford.

In Lieu of flowers the family request those desiring may make donations in Claire's memory to the Bridgeport Hospital Burns Unit.
