Christopher Alfred Lafayette, age 62, of Bridgeport, passed away on September 7, 2025, at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Chris was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Jane (Mattos) Lafayette and the late Paul W. Lafayette. He was a graduate of Weston High School and a Professional Chef.

At an early age, he was recognized for his wonderful singing voice, plus a love of music and theatre. He began sharing his gift of music through middle and high school plays, plus a rock band. This passion continued throughout his lifetime, as he had been an active participant in multiple barbershop quartets and various choirs across the decades. Over the past several years, he sang with Coastal Mix, an A cappella chorus based in Fairfield County.

He also enjoyed helping and teaching others to cook. Chris enjoyed cooking for family, friends and neighbors. He was an excellent Chef and especially enjoyed the opportunity to cook with his son, Josh. The two of them volunteered at a local soup kitchen on Thanksgiving and other occasions. He was a faithful member of Community Crossroads Church for 15+ years and had a strong faith in God.

Survivors include his beloved son, Joshua and Joshua's mother Glenda Charles of Bridgeport, his mother, Jane Lafayette, sisters, Michelle Nolan of Shelton, Gabrielle (Tom) Daves of Norwalk, Leslie Flocco of Pennsylvania, and Adrienne (Travis) Bunnell of Torrington, and brother, Noel (Linda Nash) Lafayette of Weston and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Chris was pre-deceased by his brother-in-law, William Flocco.

Visitation on Saturday, October 11th from 1-2 p.m. at Crossroad Community Church 150 Chapel Street Stratford. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 2 pm. All other services will be private and have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford.
