IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christina
Kerekonish
July 17, 1914 – March 8, 2018
Christina C. Kerekonish, of Stratford, beloved widow of Wesley Kerekonish, passed away peacefully in her home, beside her daughters, on Thursday, March 8, 2018. A daughter of the late Boleslaw and Josefa (Sobczak) Szafranski, Christina was born at home in the South End of Bridgeport on July 17, 1914 weighing only 3 lbs. Despite growing up during difficult times, she lived life with resolve, resilience and optimism. During our own hard times she often reminded us that "This Too Shall Pass". She was a selfless woman with a heart of gold, who loved her family fiercely, as we did her. Christina attended Stratford High and Butler Business School and, prior to raising her family, worked for The Singer Company. She was retired from Medical Records at Bridgeport Hospital. She enjoyed gardening and reading, and shared her love of cooking, including treasured Polish recipes and traditions that had been handed down to her. A devotee of Saint Therese, and devout Catholic, she was a long time member of the Holy Name of Jesus Parish and Ladies Guild in Stratford. Survivors include her devoted daughters, Janet Kerekonish and Patricia Parker (Stuart) and her adored grandsons Colin and Andrew. Special thanks to her wonderful caregivers Debbie, Lysandra and Catherine. Those so desiring may contribute to her favorite charity: Society of the Little Flower 1313 N. Frontage Rd. Darien, Ill. 60561, in her memory. Godspeed Mommy~Until we meet again… Private services were held at the convenience of the family per Christina's wishes and entrusted to the care of the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, CT.
