Charles P. Kochiss, age 85, of Stratford, beloved husband of Mary Smuligo, passed away on Friday July 6, 2012 in Lord Chamberlain Heath Care Center, Stratford. Charlie, a WW II Veteran of the U.S. Army, was born in Bridgeport to the late Michael and Anna (Pjura) Kochiss and has been a lifelong area resident, he was a retired Lieutenant for the Bridgeport Fire Department. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife include, two devoted sons, Kyle Kochiss and his wife Karen of Stratford and Paul Kochiss and his wife Susan of Shelton, 3 sisters Irene Bekech of Trumbull, Katherine Samorajczyk of Bridgeport and Mary Chmielewski, of Stratford, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Michael and William Kochiss and two sisters Evelyn Pcolka and Helen Gerak. Funeral services will take place on Monday July 9th, at 9:15 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:00 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church in Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with Full Military Honors will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Monday from 8:30 a.m.
