Charles Hanish age 82 of Naugatuck passed away on Friday January 25, 2008 in Haven Health Care Center Waterbury. Mr. Hanish, a WW #II Veteran of the U.S. Navy was born in Dunmore, PA to the late Michael and Anna (Matzak) Hanish and has been a life long area resident. He was a retired employee of Sikorsky Aircraft and was a member of St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church and their Holy Name Society. Survivors include his beloved wife Mary Lou Mastroni Hanish, his 3 devoted children Charles M. Hanish of Naugatuck, Michael Hanish of Cornwall, and Judi C. Dempsey and her husband Russell of Naugatuck, 3 cherished grandsons, Jacob R., Andrew S. and Joseph P. Dempsey, a brother Joseph Hanish of Milford, 4 sisters Ann Hanish of Trumbull, Margaret Dempkowski of Bridgeport, Madeline Bredice of Stratford and Emma La Providenza of Trumbull, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Monday January 28th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church Nichols for a Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Monroe.
