IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles C.
Hall Jr.
January 5, 1972 – January 21, 2026
Charles Clifford Hall Jr., 54, of Horseheads, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
He was born on January 5, 1972, in Bridgeport, CT to the late Brenda (Franklin) Hall and Charles Hall.
After graduating from Stratford High School in 1990, he joined the military where he
proudly served in the United States Marine Corps earning a Navy/Marine Corps Combat Action Ribbon among many other medals. He deeply valued the brotherhood of the Marine Corps and the camaraderie he shared with his fellow Marines, friendships that he carried for life.
He was fun-loving by nature, witty, quick with a joke and ready to make others laugh, using humor to make others feel at ease. Some say he could make a statue smile. He was always willing to help—whether it was offering practical support, advice, or simply showing up when someone needed him.
Charlie also loved the outdoors, whether it was preparing for half marathons, family camping trips, or hiking, some of the fondest memories of Charlie will be around a campfire sharing jokes and stories. He was also a sports lover, a lifetime Jets fan. He recently took his son Andrew to his first NFL game; a memory Andrew will be able to look back fondly on. Charlie loved to watch both of his children play various sports and was proud of all their accomplishments.
Charlie is survived by his 2 children, Lauren Elisabeth, 18, and Andrew Charles, 10, whom he shared with his wife Jennifer Hall. His 3 loving sisters: Susan and husband Gary Cole, Peggy and husband Frank Scalzo, and Christine and husband Terry Beard. As well as 9 nieces and nephews who he was also very proud of: Michael, Maggie, Nicholas, Amy, Dominic, Matthew, Brianna, David, and Joshua. He is preceded in death by his Mother Brenda Hall, Grandmother Anna Franklin, and Uncle Clarence Franklin.
Never afraid to tackle a new challenge, at 46, he became a NYS Correctional Officer serving most of his career at Five Points Correction Facility. Charlie formed many good friendships in that brotherhood as well and was a well-respected and trusted guard. In true Marine fashion, Charlie died with his boots on, while on duty protecting the citizens of NYS.
He was the light of any room and had an effortless ability to make everyone and anyone feel welcomed and loved, a man who will never be forgotten or replaced. His passing was unexpected, leaving a profound loss for those who knew him. His memory will continue to be a comfort to his family and friends. He will be forever missed.
