Cecilia Fonseca Rodriguez, age 82, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Jesus Rodriguez, passed away on May 14, 2018 in Bishop Wicke Health Center, Shelton. Cecilia was born in New York City on January 13, 1936 to the late Juan and Trinidad (Lopez) Fonseca. She was a former dress designer/pattern maker, and was the first female pattern maker on "Fashion Fifth Avenue", designing for many celebrities, including Elizabeth Taylor and Juliet Prowse. Survivors include her devoted daughters, Denise Schoepflin and Donna Ortiz, both of Stratford, grandsons, Jeremy Ortiz, Noah and Daniel Schoepflin, a brother, Juan Fonseca, and a sister, Marina Gonzalez, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Cecilia was pre-deceased by her sisters, Anna and Miriam. Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 18 ^th at 10:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet her family on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
