Carol Vass, age 74, formerly of Shelton, Connecticut, peacefully transitioned out of this life on Thursday, June 16, 2022.

Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on August 15, 1947, to the late Frank and Goldie (Holzer) Stramski, Carol graduated from Bassick High School. Marrying the love of her life, Leslie Vass, on June 5, 1971, Carol began her greatest adventure raising her sons (Matthew and Robert), helping her husband manage his business, being active in her community and spending time with family and friends.  She had a kind heart, an infectious spirit and was beloved by all who had the chance to know her.

After a varied career, she spent retirement rekindling her love for cats, taking casino adventures and assuming her new title as "CC", where, among other activities, she spent hours coloring with her granddaughter during her "Grandma camps".  Family was, until the very end, the most important part of Carol's life.

Carol is predeceased by Leslie Vass, her husband of 37 years at the time of his passing in 2008.  She is survived by her devoted sons, Robert Vass, and his wife Heather, of Lady Lake, FL and Matthew Vass, and his wife Kathrine, of Stratford, CT; her beloved granddaughter Elivia Vass, of Stratford; her brother Frank Stramski, and his wife Linda, of Prospect; her sisters, Mary Stramski of Milford, Gail Fowler, and her husband Greg, of Seymour and Patricia Ryan, and her husband Dennis, of Florida, along with several nieces and nephews.

Carol's family invites friends and family to call on Thursday, June 23rd ^th from 4-7 pm at the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford Connecticut.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 24 ^th at 10 am meeting directly at St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment will be beside her love, Leslie, at the Riverside Cemetery, Shelton.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations to Sheltering Hands (www.shelteringhands.org), a cat rescue organization Carol loved and supported in her later years.
