Carol Jane Richards- Babey, age 61, of Stratford, beloved wife of Michael A. Babey passed away suddenly in her home on Wednesday August 10, 2011. Carol, a retired- Tax Accountant for Pitney Bowes was born in Bridgeport to Earl and Elizabeth (Helbig) Richards of Pittsburg, New Hampshire and has been a life long area resident. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart University, and was a member of the Shakespeare Civitan Club, and the Saw Dust Alley Clowns, where she was affectionately known as "Kini" the clown. Survivors in addition to her beloved husband, and parents, include her devoted son Omar Madruga and his wife Amy of California, 2 cherished grandchildren Carol and Angel, a brother Carl Jim Richards and his wife Dorothy of Ansonia, 3 sisters Ann Thompson and her husband Audie of Shelton, Lauren Chiplinsky and her husband Ron of Derby, and Linda Chappell and her husband David of NH, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may greet her family on Friday (TODAY) August 12th from 4-7 p.m. A prayer service officiated by Rev. Dr. Robert Genevicz will take place at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
