Carol A. Griz, age 64 of Bridgeport, a Senior Claims Representative with Travelers Insurance Company, died Friday, March 23, 2006 in her home with her family by her side, after a long courageous and valiant battle with cancer. She was born in Bridgeport to the late Martin Panuczak and Helen Naperkowski Panuczak and has been a lifelong area resident. Carol loved to spend time with her family and was an avid NY Ranger fan and loved to fish. She was a member of the WICC Singing Sweethearts during the late 60's thru the 70's and was past president of the WDJZ Harmonets. She is the cherished daughter of Helen Panuczak and beloved wife of Andrew Griz, the devoted mother of Jamie Smith of Derby, Michele Charney and her husband Brian of Stratford and Danielle Smith of Stratford, the dedicated and loving grandmother of Alexander Charney. She also survived by a brother Richard Panuczak and his wife Alexandra of New Hampshire; her stepchildren Michael Griz of New York, NY and Michelle Griz of Branford and several nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by her father Martin and her mother-in-law Mary "Baba" Griz. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at 10:45 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 11:30 am in St. Michael the Archangel Church Bridgeport with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Milford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 pm
