Carmela J. Obuchowski, age 74, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of Anthony Obuchowski, passed away on February 3, 2025.

Carmela was born in Bridgeport on September 17, 1950, to the late Joseph and Mary (Mobilio) Penna and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1970 and worked for many years at Del Prete Bakery. Carmela enjoyed spending time with her family and cherishing their annual summer vacations. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. She looked forward to her weekly Bingo night, playing the lottery, and trips to the casinos.
She worked her entire life in the bakery. First at Pacelli's Bakery and then at Del Prete Bakery. Everyone who met her was greeted with a warm smile and cheerful spirit. Her smile would bring joy to all around her. Those who were lucky enough to spend time with her will truly miss her.

Survivors in addition to her beloved husband of 48 years include her devoted children, Susan Cruz and her husband Edwin of Stratford, Michael Obuchowski of Fairfield, and Andrew Murphy of Bridgeport, 4 cherished grandchildren, Sophia, Mateo, Luke and Jazlin, a brother Phil Penna of Stratford, sisters, Mary Ardito and her husband Rich of New York, Michelle Cordero of Shelton, and Barbara Segarra of Stratford, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carmela was pre-deceased by her siblings, Roseann, Carl, Carol, Lucy, and Joseph Jr.

Friends and family are invited to gather on Monday, February 10th from 4-7 PM in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. meeting directly at St. James Church 2070 Main Stratford. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
