AASEN, Bruce Gerald III
aka "
Doc Greenthumb
" aka
"Brucey Biscuits"
1 April 1980 – 25 December 2018
The
family
of
Bruce
Gerald
Aasen
III
wish
to
extend an
invitation
to
celebrate
the
life
and
mourn the loss of Bruce, who passed away peacefully at home just before Christmas.
After
the
initial
shock,
a
close
friend
sadly
said:
"It's
just
like
Bruce
to
enter
the
world
on
April
Fools
Day
and
then
leave
on
Christmas."
Those
who
knew
Bruce
well
would
agree,
as
he
was
well-known
for
his sometimes
highly
inappropriate
but
hilarious
pranks
and
memes
on facebook.
A
native
of
Stratford,
CT,
Bruce
migrated
west
at 19 years
old
making
the
North
Bay
area,
Santa
Rosa
in
particular,
his
home.
The
Santa
Rosa
fires
of
2017
had
displaced
Bruce
along
with
many
other
people,
and
he
had
finally
settled
into
a
room
on
his
friend's
family
farm
in
Rohnert, CA, where he lived at the time of death.
After
settling
in
the North
Bay
area
as
a
youth,
Bruce immersed
his creative
energies
into the
House/Techno
music
and
rave
movements,
using
"Doc
Greenthumb"
as
his
stage
name.
He
and his close
friends founded
"Pure Vision—1 Sol, 1
Love, 1 Family"
music festival in
2004.
The 15th annual
event will
take place
19-21
July 2019 in
the Sierra
Nevada
mountains outside
Pioneer, CA
with a
special
tribute
to
Bruce
(contact
family
for
more
information).
Bruce
also owned
and
operated
a
moving
company
up
until
the
housing
market
and
banking
crash of 2008.
After
some
time,
because
of
his
computer
and
networking
savvy,
Bruce switched
gears and worked to
receive certification as an IT field engineer for CompuCom.
