Bridget J. Knudsen, age 74, passed peacefully at her home in Milford, CT on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. Born in Norwalk on March 25, 1949, to the late Mark E. and Bertha (O'Marra) Ballard. She was a lifelong area resident and spent over 30 years as the Executive Assistant to the administrator at the Norwalk Transit District.  Bridget was a practicing Catholic and an active member at St Joseph Church in Norwalk and Our Lady of Grace in Stratford, where she crocheted and knitted baptismal blankets for the churches. Additionally, she was an extraordinary minister. She was a kind, gentle soul who lived a life full of gratitude and was loved by so many.  She was a gifted gardener and spent time as a volunteer tending to the rose garden at Boothe Memorial Park in Stratford. She loved travel, most especially with the "usual suspects". She was adventurous and always up for new experiences.  Above all, she loved being with and around her family.

She leaves behind her loving children, David Knudsen of Indian Trail, NC; Karen Sposta and her husband Jim, and Laura (Knudsen) Abildgaard and her husband Dan all of Stratford, and her pride and joy, grandchildren, Angela and Nicholas Sposta, her devoted siblings, Mark R Ballard and his wife Barbara of Norwalk, Peter Ballard and his companion Jean Kean of New Suffolk, NY, Mary Davidson of Interlaken, NY, Virginia Ballard Driscoll of Southbury, Timothy Ballard and his companion Kimberly Ayers of Auburn, CA and John Ballard and his wife Kathee of Freemont, CA, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Bridget was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Knudsen, her sister, Luann Westerlund and her brothers-in-law E. Lee Davidson and Bob Driscoll.

Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, September 27th from 4:00-7:00 pm in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, September 28th at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford.

Interment will be private.
