IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brian M.
Pcolar
July 30, 1963 – September 17, 2024
Brian Michael Pcolar, 61, of Milford, CT, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on July 30, 1963, to Raymond and Mary Ann Pcolar in Fairfield, CT, he was a loving husband of 32 years, devoted father, and cherished friend who brought joy to everyone he met with his infectious sense of humor and warm personality.
As a father, Brian was deeply involved in his children's lives, coaching Little League Baseball, volunteering as a Den Leader in Cub Scouts, and never missing a dance recital or school play. He never minded standing in the long lines at Lake Compounce's water park every summer to accompany his kids down every water slide. Family was everything to him.
Brian cherished weekend family gatherings, where he loved playing bocce ball, playing pinochle, and enjoying cold beer. He was a big sports fan, always cheering on his favorite teams, the New York Giants, the New York Yankees, and especially UConn Women's Basketball. He had a passion for working in his backyard and taking refreshing dips in the pool while listening to country music.
He was employed for 30 years at Sikorsky/Lockheed Martin as a parts evaluator, where he formed lasting friendships and was known for his dedication and work ethic.
After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2022, Brian fought valiantly through multiple rounds of chemotherapy, receiving treatment from the compassionate staff at St. Vincent's Medical Center. In his final weeks, he was surrounded by the beauty of the ocean at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, where he received loving care.
Brian leaves behind his beloved wife, Karen; his daughter, Kellie; his son, Brian; his mother, Mary Ann; his brothers, Keith, Ray, and Jon Pcolar; his sister, Laura Cavaliere (Frank); several nieces and nephews; and his lifelong best friend, Mike Gamola.
A celebration of Brian's life will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, from 3-6 p.m. at the Adzima Funeral Home in Stratford, CT. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Swim Across the Sound or Connecticut Hospice, in honor of Brian's enduring spirit.
Brian was truly the heart of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.
