Berniece Weaver, age 97 of Stratford, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012 in Milford Hospital. A retired schoolteacher for the Greenwich School System, Berniece was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma to the late Ivan and Ethel (Shannon) Weaver and has been a longtime area resident. Survivors include her two daughters, Candice E. Myers of Stratford and Christina Ladd of CA, six grandchildren, Terrence Ladd of CA, Johnathan Bodine and his wife Joely Antoci of Milford, Megan Bodine of Stratford, Sean Myers of CA, Eric Ladd of PA and Caroline Cepetelli and her husband Tim of Hamden. She was predeceased by a son, Alden R. Diaz. Berniece was a keen observer of current events, an avid reader and enjoyed world travel, fine wines and the company of her family, in particular her grandchildren, whom she doted upon at every opportunity. Private funeral services will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton. The Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
