– Beatrice Jean Helwig, age 81 of Stratford died Sunday, January 21, 2007 in her home. Born in Norwalk to the late George M. and Hannah (Olsen) White She has been a lifelong area resident. She was the widow of Carleton P Helwig and she retired from Warnaco in 1988. Survivors include 2 sons Robert Carleton Helwig and his wife Tammy of Palm Beach, FLA and Douglas Helwig and his wife Donna of Stratford; a daughter Diane Slattery and her husband William of Milford; 7 grandchildren: Joseph Helwig, Mary Ellen Helwig Gojuk, Carrie-Ann Diorio, William Slattery, Brianne Slattery, Jessie Helwig and Travis Helwig; several nieces and nephews. All funeral services were private and at the convenience of the family.
