Barry Patrick Kelly, age 65, of Stratford, the beloved husband of Tracey Hall Kelly, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in Bridgeport Hospital.
Born in Bridgeport on May 14, 1959, to the late Raymond and Muriel (Howard) Kelly, he has been a lifelong Stratford resident. Barry worked in IT for various companies over his 44year career. He started his career in 1980 at General Cable as a Programmer Analyst. In 1984 he started what would be his 40-year career at Sikorsky Aircraft/ Lockheed Martin. In 1984-2017 he worked as an Information Technology Manager at Sikorsky Aircraft. In 2017 until his retirement in 2024, he worked as a Manager, SAP Basis Security SAP Center of Excellence at Lockheed Martin. During his time at Sikorsky Aircraft, he also was a loaned executive to the United Way.
He was a founding member of the Stratford EMS, and was also their longest serving member who was fortunate to be part of the crew who responded to the first ever call. He also worked at Chamberlain Ambulance from 1979 to 1994. He did Security/EMS at the Danbury Fair/ Pinkerton's from 1977 to 1981. Barry received many awards during his life. He was the Sterling House Youth of the Year, in 1989 Excellence in LSA Support, 1994 Sikorsky Aircraft Volunteer Award, 2007 Fairfield County Hero Award, and 2016 President's Lifetime Achievement Award. He was a member of the Gaelic-American Club and in 1991 was on the Sterling House Golf Committee of the Sterling Classic Golf Tournament he initiated and is still going strong today.
Survivors in addition to his beloved wife Tracey include his son, Brian Edward Kelly, a sister Kate Kutash and her husband Stephen, a brother Tim Kelly and his wife Susan, his godmother, Patricia Doolan.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 4-7 pm in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 25th at 10am meeting directly at St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
Donations can be made in his honor to St, Jude's Children's Research Hospital, a charity he has supported for many years.
