Barbara A. (Lyon) Wilkerson, age 82, beloved wife of the late Charles L. Wilkerson, passed away peacefully with family by her side Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at her home in Stratford, Connecticut. Barbara was born on May 28, 1935 in White Plains New York to the late Wilfred and Naomi Lyon and is survived by her two sons Jeffrey M. Wilkerson of Stratford, Charles W. Wilkerson, his wife Susan, two grandchildren, Nora and Ryan of Fairfield; sister-in-law Rita Wilkerson Mihalko of Milford, brother, Alfred Lyon of Kingman Arizona, and two dear friends, Livia Draper of Shelton, and Mary Bradshaw of Stratford. Early on, she was in the clothing industry and worked as a purchaser for a local fashion store, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. A longtime member of Saint James Church, she was a devoted mother, homemaker, a wonderful grandmother, and friend to all. Those memories will be cherished by her family and friends whom she loved so dearly. Friends may greet Barbara's family on Tuesday, October 24 ^th from 5-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday October 25 ^th at 10:30 a.m. at Union Cemetery Temple Court Stratford.
