Arthur L. Burritt, age 79, of Stratford, beloved husband of Lois Barvenik Burritt, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in Bridgeport Hospital. Art, a U. S. Navy Veteran, was born in Bridgeport to the late Edgar and Elsa (Elliott) Burritt and has been a life long area resident. He was a retired supervisor for the Southern Connecticut Gas Company, and was a former Boy Scout leader for the Garden School Troop, and was a loyal fan of the NY Giants and the U-Conn Huskies. Art was an optimistic and courageous man, who always maintained a positive spirit, and was an inspiration to all. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife, include his devoted children, Arthur Burritt and his wife Peg of PA, Susan Santillo and her husband Mark of NH, and Melissa Pinto and her husband Chris of Stratford, 11 cherished grandchildren, Arthur, Christopher, Matthew, Eric, Gregory (Cara), Christopher (Cortney), Danielle (Tom), Kris, Alex, Elizabeth, and Cathlyn, 3 great-grandchildren, Isabella, Emily and Savannah, a brother Edgar Burritt of FL, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, Art was pre-deceased by his daughter-in-law Penny. The Burritt family would like to thank the Doctor's and staff of Bridgeport Hospital for their kind and loving care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 9th at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Church 230 Park Blvd, Lordship (Meet Directly at Church). Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford.
