Obituary

Apollonio (Paul) Vittorio 86, died peacefully on June 1, 2022. Born April 1, 1936, Paul immigrated from Sante Croce, Sicily with his brother Joseph in 1954 and settled in Bridgeport, Conn. where he worked for Exide Battery while he pursued his electrical license at Bullard Haven. He was an entrepreneur and had several businesses including A&V Electric, New England Sign Company, and a local car wash. During his career, he co-founded and rose to become president of the Fairfield County Electrical Association. But Paul was a true cowboy at heart, and it wasn't until he left the businesses aside and started a horse stable that he found his calling. He was a consummate horse-whisperer, and his joy was at the farm where he spent countless hours teaching others who shared his love for horses. Paul was a young calf roper who then rode his horses in parades, organized riding excursions, and competed in rodeos throughout New England.

He is pre-deceased by his wife Lenore and his four siblings, Joseph Vittorio, Lena Timperanza, Josephine (Pina) Vittoria, and Giovanna (Jennie) Troiano. He leaves behind his sister-in-law, Fanny Vittorio of Trumbull and his four children, Michael (Cathy) Vittorio of Wethersfield, William Vittorio of Stratford, Donald Vittorio, of Nevada, and Nancy (Jon) Russitano of Guilford, along with his grandchildren – Nicholas (Alisha), Adam, Craig (Katie), Marisa (Julian), Tyler, and Michael Anthony.

Friends and family may visit on Sunday, June 12, 2022, from 2-5 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.
